Restored antique Erard Gothic harp with gilded detail

Two centuries forward

Harp restoration

We specialise in 19th-century pedal harps, rebuilding with original methods and specifications to protect both authenticity and sound.

The approach

Craft informed
by the instrument.

Museum-minded craftsmanship that returns historic pedal harps to expressive, confident playing condition.

01

A sympathetic approach

A harp can be restored to an immaculate, like-new finish or treated more quietly so it plays beautifully while retaining its antique surface and history.

02

Traditional decoration

Moulds, freehand modelling and carving allow lost decorative work to be rebuilt. Water and oil gilding are selected according to the original finish.

03

Complete rebuilding

A full restoration strips the instrument to its last screw. Structure, mechanism and finish can then be examined as a whole and rebuilt with confidence.

04

Made to be played

The aim is never a static showpiece. Each decision is made so that the finished harp looks extraordinary, sounds authentic and can continue playing for generations.
