The approach
Regulation, pedal felts, restringing and detailed maintenance for a responsive, reliable instrument.
A typical service begins with the pedal felts and pedal adjustment, followed by regulation of every bridge pin and disc. Wire strings can also be replaced where required.
A harp played for several hours every day may benefit from yearly attention. For many players, every three years is suitable. Compressed pedal felts, unwanted buzzes or uneven semitones are useful signs.
A straightforward service is usually around three hours. Antique harps are often kept in the workshop for a day so the instrument can settle after the work.
Most modern harps can be serviced on the day you bring them to the workshop. Contact Steffan first to discuss the instrument and reserve a suitable appointment.
